Totem Spoons How-To

Step One: Think of items that describe YOU. Think of at least three objects separate from the spoon itself. You can use the spoon to look like a (4th) object. For example, you could make the spoon look like a soccer ball but you will still need three other objects to stack on the spoon handle.

Step Two: Use the techniques you practices and proportion your clay into parts. Make sure you have enough clay for everything you need to sculpt. Use coils and pinch pots to help you create the design of your spoon. 

Step Three: The teacher will bake your clay. Then you will need to color and add finishing designs with paint or sharpies.

Final step: Write a description of why your chose the items on your totem spoon. Use the Totem writing paper and turn it into the teacher.
